Pieter Vanhuysse is a Full Professor of Politics and Public Policy at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), holding positions in the Department of Political Science and Public Management and the Danish Centre for Welfare Studies. He is also a Senior Fellow at the Danish Institute for Advanced Study and a Founding Board Member of the Interdisciplinary Centre on Population Dynamics (CPOP-SAMF). His work bridges political science, public policy, and demographic studies.

- Master (Licenciaat) in Economics, Catholic University of Leuven (1996), graduating magna cum laude as top of his class
Research Interests: Focuses on political demography, aging democracies, welfare state dynamics, and the interplay between generations and public policy. Explores how demographic shifts impact governance, social justice, and institutional resilience.
