Pierre Valois

Pierre Valois is a Full Professor in the Department of Foundations and Practices in Education at Laval University's Faculty of Education. He also serves as Director of the Quebec Observatory for Adaptation to Climate Change (OQACC), positioning him at the intersection of educational research and climate adaptation policy.

His research interests span Educational Assessment, Attitude Measurement, Health Education, and Climate Change Adaptation. Professor Valois applies psychometric and measurement expertise from educational research to understand how individuals and communities adapt to climate-related risks, particularly heatwaves and flooding. His work frequently employs the Theory of Planned Behavior to identify determinants of adaptive behaviors.

Analysis of his recent publications (2020-2024) reveals a strong focus on developing measurement tools for climate adaptation, including behavioral indices for flood and heat adaptation, municipal adaptation progress metrics, and competency frameworks for built environment professionals.
