Pierre Sikivie is a Distinguished Professor of Physics at the University of Florida, Department of Physics. His research focuses on particle physics and cosmology, with emphasis on axion physics, Casimir forces, galactic halo formation, and dark matter searches. He holds a Ph.D. from Yale University (1975) under Feza Gursey, and a Licencié en Sciences Physiques from Université de Liège.
- Research Highlights: Contributions to universal gauge theories, axion dark matter detection methods, and analysis of galactic structures via IRAS and Gaia skymaps.
- Collaborations: Work with ADMX Collaboration on axion detection, and studies of galactic caustic rings using Gaia data.
His research integrates theoretical frameworks with experimental approaches, including simulations of reentrant cavities for dark matter detection (Fortran codes provided). He has published on topics such as triangular features in galactic skymaps interpreted as dark matter caustics.
