معرفی
Pierre Sallamand is a Professor at the University of Burgundy, affiliated with the IUT Le Creusot under the Metallurgical Processes, Sustainability, and Materials department. His research focuses on microstructural and mechanical properties of high-entropy alloys (HEA) produced via powder metallurgy, including hot oxidation behavior and laser welding effects. He collaborates with teams such as MANAPI, LERMPS, and M4OXE, and has contributed to projects like the EIPHI Graduate School's COCASSE initiative. His career spans roles in academic leadership, including co-management of the PLATFORM3D technological platform and departmental leadership in PMDM.
Research Interests
His work primarily examines materials reactivity at liquid-solid and liquid-liquid interfaces, emphasizing phase evolution during heterogeneous material assembly, embrittlement from fragile phases, and thermomechanical cracking. Recent projects analyze high-temperature oxidation (up to 900°C) of HEA alloys, linking initial microstructures to degradation mechanisms. Earlier work focused on laser-based metal resurfacing and in-situ temperature control during processing.
Academic Leadership
- Member of the IUT Council (2024–present)
- Co-manager of PLATFORM3D (2014–2019)
- Head of the Laser and Materials Processing team (2012–2015)
