Pierre Martinetti is an Associate Professor at the University of Genoa, affiliated with the Department of Mathematics within the School of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences. His research focuses on mathematical physics, particularly noncommutative geometry, spectral triples, and their applications to the Standard Model and general relativity.
- Teaches APPLIED MATHEMATICS (Product and Communication Design), ANALYTICAL MECHANICS (Physics and Mathematics), and MATHEMATICAL METHODS IN GENERAL RELATIVITY (Master's in Mathematics).
His work explores geometric frameworks for quantum field theories, with recent publications addressing the transition between Euclidean and Lorentzian signatures, twisted spectral triples, and spectral distance formulations. He is part of the Library Board for the School of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences.
Research Trends: The articles highlight his contributions to noncommutative geometry's role in unifying general relativity and quantum mechanics, focusing on spectral triples, Dirac operators, and geometric actions for the Standard Model.
