Pierre LAMBERT

Pierre LAMBERT is a Professor at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in the TIPs Department within the Faculty of Sciences. His research focuses on Soft/Wet Microrobotics, Microtechniques, and Nose-to-Brain Drug Delivery systems, with particular expertise in surface tension based micromanipulation technologies.

His primary research interests include:

Professor LAMBERT's research has produced significant innovations including the ThermoBot platform for air-water interface manipulation, which enables precise control of micro-objects without on-board actuators. His recent work demonstrates applications in microassembly operations and directed self-assembly of micro-components, with potential applications across biomedical engineering and micro-manufacturing.

His research group has received notable recognition including the Artistic Excellence Award at the 2020 Sci-On! film festival for 'Stardust Odyssey,' featuring the smallest 3D stop-motion animation character. This work was also highlighted by the French CNRS and Belgian broadcast BX1, with a cover feature in Actuators journal.

Professor LAMBERT actively organizes major international conferences including the International Workshop on Active Matter series and MARSS conferences. He currently co-organizes the MARSS'2024 conference with TU/Delft and serves as Topic Editor for Frontiers' research topic on 'Soft Robotics at Small Scales.'

He is recruiting Master's students for internships and thesis work, and encouraging PhD and Postdoc candidates to apply for FNRS grants with FRIA deadlines in August and PhD/Postdoc grant deadlines in January.
