Pierre F. Baldi

Pierre F. Baldi is Distinguished Professor and Director of the Institute for Genomics & Bioinformatics at UC Irvine, with joint appointments in Biological Chemistry, Developmental Cell Biology, and Computer Science. His research develops AI/machine learning methods for scientific applications across physics, chemistry, and biology.

Recent work includes deep learning approaches for neutrino oscillation analysis in high-energy physics and cancer mutation classification. Baldi has received numerous honors including the Dennis Gabor Award and fellowships from AAAI, AAAS, IEEE, ACM, and ISCB.
