Pierre Beaulieu is a Full Professor at the University of Montreal, holding appointments in both the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology. He obtained his MD from the University of Bordeaux 2 (France) in 1987, a Specialty in Anesthesia-Resuscitation (FRCA) from the United Kingdom in 1997, and a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Montreal in 1997.

He has served as publication director for major pharmacology and anesthesia textbooks, including Pain: A Pharmacological and Therapeutic Guide (2013) and Landmark Papers in Pain (2018). Current projects include the CANSEP randomized trial comparing cannabinoids to standard treatments for multiple sclerosis symptoms.
