Pierre-Baptiste VIGNERON is a Lecturer at the Université Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB), specializing in Engineering Sciences. His teaching focuses on electronics, telecommunications, networks, and applied physics, including analog electronics, digital circuits (Arduino), fiber optics, and optical telecommunications components. He also provides mathematical refresher courses and project supervision.
His research, conducted in the PHOTO team, explores THz wave phenomena. He uses amplified parametric lasers (OPA) to probe non-linear materials and generate THz waves via optical rectification. He collaborates with the QuantECA team at the Néel Institute (Grenoble) on ANR projects like QTERA and STEPforQUBITS, contributing to optoelectronic THz generation for quantum electronics applications.
Prior to his current role, he completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Stanford University (2019–2021), working on anti-Stokes fluorescence cooling in optical fibers and high-finesse micro-resonators for compact gyroscopes. He earned his PhD from Université Paris-Saclay (2015–2019) on mid-infrared detectors and THz emitters under strong light-matter coupling.
