Piero Armenante

Piero Armenante is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). His research focuses on fluid dynamics, pharmaceutical engineering, and biomanufacturing processes. He has extensive experience in dissolution testing apparatus design, hydrodynamic analysis, and computational modeling of industrial processes.

Armenante has led two major NSF-funded projects: 'Fundamental Studies and Chemical and Engineering Innovations in Flocculative Water Cleaning' (1995–2002) and 'IUCRC for Combined Anaerobic-Aerobic Treatment of Halogenated Organic Compounds Using a Lignite Char Support' (1991–1996). These projects addressed water treatment technologies and halogenated compound remediation.

His recent research emphasizes optimization of dissolution testing systems, rheological analysis of complex fluids, and computational prediction of biomanufacturing processes. Armenante collaborates internationally and has published widely in journals like International Journal of Pharmaceutics and Chemical Engineering Science.
