Dr Pia Wohland is a Senior Research Fellow at the School of the Environment within the Faculty of Science at The University of Queensland. Her research focuses on demography, population trends, health sciences, and human geography. She has contributed to studies on the socio-spatial impacts of pandemics like COVID-19, ethnic population projections, and aging populations.
Education: She holds a Master of Research in Biology from Universität Konstanz, a PhD from the University of Leeds, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Professions Education from the University of York.
Research Interests: Dr Wohland specializes in demographic modeling, health expectancies, and the intersection of geography with public health. Her work includes developing frameworks for pandemic impact analysis and creating interactive dashboards for disease tracking.
