Pia Bøgelund is an Associate Professor at Aalborg University's Department of Sustainability and Planning, affiliated with The Technical Faculty of IT and Design and the Danish Centre for Environmental Assessment. She holds a PhD in Environmental Decision Making and a master’s in Environmental Planning, complemented by training in psychotherapy and coaching. As Head of a department section and part of strategic leadership, she focuses on facilitation of change at individual, group, and organizational levels.
Her research emphasizes emotions in engineering education, student retention, and international PhD supervision. Key projects include LEGO Serious Play for sustainability transitions, career development for early-career academics, and systematic reviews on engineering education emotions. She contributes to UN SDG 4 (Quality Education) through pedagogical innovation and career support systems.
Teaching and training focus on PhD supervision, career coaching for assistant professors, and leadership development. Her work bridges educational psychology, organizational development, and sustainability science. Recent activities include workshops on green transition strategies and academic career systems.
