Dr. Pia Ahlbäck is University Lecturer in the Department of Culture, History and Philosophy within the Faculty of Arts, Psychology and Theology at Åbo Akademi University. She holds the title of Docent and serves in editorial roles including for Finsk Tidskrift.
Her research spans eco-criticism, children's literature, utopian studies, and cultural theory, with particular focus on temporalities, environmental narratives, and Nordic literary traditions. Recent projects examine representations of time in children's literature and ecological temporalities in the Anthropocene.
Publications demonstrate consistent engagement with Nordic cultural production through monograph editions, critical articles, and theoretical interventions at the intersection of literary studies, environmental humanities, and cultural history.
