معرفی
Dr Phong Vo serves as a Research Fellow in the Climate Change Cluster of the Faculty of Science at the University of Technology Sydney and holds an Honorary Fellow/Associate Lecturer position at the Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Sciences (QAEHS). His work focuses on developing sustainable environmental solutions through bioprocesses and green technologies for critical global challenges.
His research centers on trace pollutants remediation, water/wastewater treatment, resource recovery of rare earth elements, and understanding pollutant fate from contaminated sites. He integrates engineering, biology, and chemistry to improve recycling, waste disposal, public health, and water pollution control, with direct contributions to climate change mitigation through material recovery for renewable energy infrastructure like electric vehicles and wind turbines.
Dr Vo has secured over $600,000 in competitive research funding from the Australian Research Council, University of Technology Sydney, and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Key projects include Queensland Government collaboration on wastewater-based COVID-19 surveillance, PFAS fate/transport assessment at contaminated sites, and evaluation of Australian PFAS remediation technologies.
He actively collaborates with the Climate Change Cluster at UTS and QAEHS, presenting findings at international forums including the Asia-Pacific Conference on Algal Biotechnology (China, 2019) and BioRestech (Spain, 2018).
