معرفی
Phoebe McNeally is a Research Professor at the University of Utah's School of Environment, Society & Sustainability, with expertise in geospatial analysis and ecological research. She holds a PhD in Geography (2008) and has focused on habitat fragmentation, conservation strategies, and the spatial dynamics of social phenomena.
- Education: PhD in Geography (University of Utah, 2008), MS in Geography (University of Utah, 2000), BS in Survey Engineering (University of Maine, 1997)
Her research spans ecological applications in diverse contexts: 1) quantifying geomorphic responses to invasive species removal along rivers, 2) analyzing spatial patterns of conspiracy theory propagation, 3) designing landscape connectivity strategies for mammal conservation, and 4) developing ethical frameworks for crowdsourcing sensitive geographic data. Earlier work examined fragmentation impacts on Eastern Arc forests and extinction debt dynamics.
Recent publications highlight her interdisciplinary approach, combining ecological modeling with social geography. Awards include the George F. Hepner Award for Exemplary Service, Distinguished Service Award from the Utah Geographic Information Council, and multiple Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Awards.
Teaching activities include GIS capstone courses and internship supervision. She has secured numerous grants for geospatial projects with organizations like Rockwell Collins, Walton Family Foundation, and National Park Service.
