Phillip S. Dunston is a Professor of Civil Engineering at the Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering, part of the College of Engineering at Purdue University. He serves as the Director of the Office of Professional Practice (OPP) since April 1, 2023, and as the Dean's Faculty Fellow for HBCU engagement since January 1, 2023.
His work focuses on Construction Engineering and Experiential Learning, leveraging his expertise in the Division of Construction Engineering and Management. Dunston actively promotes partnerships between Purdue Engineering and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to enhance collaborative research and talent development.
OPP, under his leadership, provides work-integrated learning opportunities through co-op programs, internships, and the Global Engineering Alliance for Research and Education (GEARE). He emphasizes the value of domestic and international experiential learning, aiming to expand Purdue's footprint in this educational domain.
