Phillip Owens

Phillip Owens is a Professor at the University of Cincinnati, specializing in cardiovascular research with a focus on atherosclerosis and abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs). His work investigates the roles of coagulation proteins, proteases, and receptors in disease pathogenesis, using mouse models to translate findings into human therapies.

He earned a Doctoral Degree from the University of Kentucky in 2009. His research emphasizes thrombosis, inflammation, and the interplay between coagulation and vascular pathology. Key projects include studying PAR receptors, gut microbiota effects, and platelet biology in AAA formation.
