معرفی
Philippe Roth serves as a Scientific collaborator at the Swiss Seismological Service (SED), an integral unit of the Department of Earth Sciences at ETH Zurich. His work focuses on real-time earthquake monitoring across Switzerland, contributing to national seismic hazard assessment and public safety initiatives through continuous data analysis from the Swiss national seismic network.
His research spans seismology, earthquake monitoring, and geophysics with emphasis on Alpine tectonic processes. This includes analyzing seismic wave propagation, refining earthquake location algorithms, and developing methodologies for rapid parameter dissemination during seismic events to support emergency response systems.
Within the SED, Dr. Roth operates in a multidisciplinary team environment that maintains over 200 seismic stations nationwide. The team specializes in real-time data processing, seismic source characterization, and long-term hazard modeling critical for infrastructure resilience in earthquake-prone Swiss regions.
