Philippe Glaser

Philippe Glaser is a researcher at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, France, where he leads the research unit on Ecology and Evolution of Antibiotic Resistance. He serves as Principal Investigator (PI) for multiple projects focused on understanding the genomic and evolutionary basis of antimicrobial resistance. His work spans bacterial genomics, horizontal gene transfer, plasmid dynamics, and the spread of resistance in clinical and community settings, particularly in low-income countries. He is also involved in the Labex IBEID initiative on emerging infectious diseases.

His research interests include antibiotic resistance, bacteriology, evolution, genomics, host-pathogen interactions, microbiota, and virulence factors. He applies advanced techniques such as whole-genome sequencing, AI-driven diagnostics (e.g., Seq2Diag project), and high-throughput screening to study resistance mechanisms and pathogen evolution.
