Philipp Slusallek

Philipp Slusallek is a Professor at Saarland University and Scientific Director at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). As co-founder of the European AI initiative CAIRNE and former Director of Research at the Intel Visual Computing Institute, he bridges academia and industry in artificial intelligence, simulated reality, and high-performance computing.

• Education: Diplom in Physics (1990, University of Tübingen), PhD in Computer Science (1995, University of Erlangen).

His research focuses on AI-driven simulation, real-time rendering, and next-generation programming models. Recent work explores cross-disciplinary applications in virtual reality, biomechanics, and telecommunications, emphasizing hardware-software co-design for GPUs and FPGAs.

His publications highlight trends in real-time graphics, motion synthesis, and AI for Science, with applications in rehabilitation monitoring and multi-agent systems.
