Philipp Pattberg is a Full Professor at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam's Faculty of Science and director of the Amsterdam Sustainability Institute (ASI). He leads the Department of Environmental Policy Analysis (IVM), a leading European group in environmental governance research. His work bridges academia and policy as co-chair of UN SDSN (Netherlands), senior fellow of the Earth System Governance Project, and incoming George Soros Visiting Chair at Central European University (2025–2026).
