Philipp Elbert

Philipp Elbert is a Lecturer at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering, ETH Zurich, Switzerland. He holds a Dr.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from ETH Zurich (2013) and previously received his M.Sc. from the same institution (2009). His research focuses on fuel optimal control and design of hybrid electric vehicles and diesel engines, optimal control theory, and numerical methods. He has contributed to projects like Formula 1 Powertrain optimization and SwissTrolley plus, a battery-electric bus charging via trolley networks.

His recent publications highlight advancements in real-time control algorithms for hybrid systems and synthetic fuels' role in decarbonizing transportation.
