Philip van Eyk

Associate Professor Philip van Eyk is an academic at the University of Adelaide's School of Chemical Engineering within the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology. He serves as Associate Head of Learning and Teaching, focusing on advancing chemical engineering education and research. His work integrates core chemical engineering principles into renewable energy applications outside power generation, sustainable chemical production, and beer brewing process analysis.

Teaching responsibilities include Process Design, Chemical Reactor Engineering, Heat and Mass Transfer, and Separation Process Engineering. He pioneered a 4th-year Brewery Engineering elective and established the Waite Campus Microbrewery for teaching and research. Grants and funding include a $956,700 project on novel diagnostics in particle-laden flows, a $550,000 initiative for biochar technology, and a $273,856 ARENA fellowship for solar gasification research. He has supervised multiple higher-degree research candidates and collaborates with industry partners.
