Philip West

Philip West is an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Science and Engineering of Southern Cross University. He previously served as a scientist at CSIRO for 20 years and directed the Cooperative Research Centre for the Sustainable Development of Tropical Savannas in Darwin (1995–1997). He transitioned to academia in 1997, teaching courses like Measuring Trees and Forests, Plantation Silviculture, and Plant Physiology and Ecology at Southern Cross University. He authored two textbooks: Tree and Forest Measurement and Growing Plantation Forests, and continues consulting for forest growers post-retirement.
