Philip Kitcher

Philip Kitcher is the John Dewey Professor of Philosophy at Columbia University, where he previously served as Chair of the Contemporary Civilization program. Educated at Christ’s College, Cambridge (Mathematics) with a PhD in Philosophy/History and Philosophy of Science, he has held academic positions at Vassar College, University of Vermont, University of Minnesota, and University of California at San Diego before joining Columbia.
