Philip Ernst is a Professor and Chair in Statistics at Imperial College London's Department of Mathematics, holding the Royal Society Wolfson Fellowship. He is affiliated with multiple research groups including Applied Probability, Stochastic Analysis, and Statistics in Finance. His research focuses on applied probability, mathematical finance, and statistical inference for stochastic processes.
Editorial Roles: Associate Editor for Journal of the American Statistical Association, Journal of Stochastic Analysis, and four other journals. Previously Guest Editor-in-Chief for a special issue on Larry Shepp.
Research Interests: Explores intersections of probability theory with finance, operations research, and control theory. Specializes in exact distribution theory, optimal stopping, queueing systems, and time series analysis. Utilizes stochastic calculus and systems theory to address real-world decision-making challenges.
