Dr. Philip Engelbutzeder is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Siegen working at the intersection of socio-informatics and sustainable practices. His research investigates ICT's role in sustainable food systems, particularly resource sharing, grassroots initiatives, and open-source community development.
Research explores food justice, volunteer-driven FOSS projects, and design methodologies for community resilience. Current projects include digital platforms for food redistribution and socio-technical innovations for sustainable consumption.
Community engagement includes founding Foodsharing Siegen, coordinating community gardens, and collaborating with international food-sharing platforms. Publications analyze ICT-mediated practices from scarcity to abundance paradigms.
