Philip Collins is Professor of Christian Ministries and Director of the Taylor University Center for Scripture Engagement at Taylor University, where he has taught full-time since 1999 after 16 years in ministry. A 1982 Taylor University graduate, he holds deep institutional roots in the department he now serves.

Dr. Collins specializes in Scripture Engagement methodology, Christian ministry formation, and biblical pedagogy. His work centers on developing practical frameworks for integrating Scripture into daily life through the Center for Scripture Engagement, producing resources that bridge academic theology with accessible spiritual formation. He emphasizes experiential learning through practicums and community-based ministry applications.

As Director of the Center for Scripture Engagement, he oversees research initiatives, diagnostic surveys, and resource development including the Abide Bible project.
Outside academia, he pursues woodworking, sailing, gardening, and reading.
