Philip Clarke is Acting Programme Director and Course Leader for BA Fashion Communication at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. With a background in Textile Design from Winchester School of Art and a decade-long career as a stylist and writer, he has been teaching in Higher Education since 2006.
His research focuses on the emergence of the fashion stylist as a freelance role in UK publishing during the early 1980s, blending etymology, editorial research, and oral history. Recent publications explore fashion communication, architectural filmmaking, and textile design.
