Phil Hanna

Phil Hanna is an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Michigan. He is affiliated with the Saturday Morning Physics series, where he delivered a lecture on February 10, 2007, titled Weapons of Mass Destruction: Biological Weapons. His research and speaking focus on the medical and societal impacts of bioterror agents, countermeasure development, and public health implications of bioweapons. He has engaged with interdisciplinary topics at the intersection of microbiology, immunology, and public policy.

Dr. Hanna’s work addresses historical and contemporary challenges in combating biological threats, emphasizing the need for scientific and governmental collaboration.
