معرفی
Phil Gutierrez is a Professor and Department Chair in the Homer L. Dodge Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Oklahoma. He has over 40 years of research in experimental high energy physics, working at Fermilab and CERN. His current focus is on the ATLAS collaboration at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), studying proton-proton collisions, top quark properties, and electroweak sector phenomena.
- Education: B.S. (1976) and Ph.D. (1983) from University of California-Riverside
Research interests include detector R&D, specifically silicon pixel detectors for the HL-LHC upgrade (to be operational in 2027). His work seeks to validate the Standard Model and explore fundamental questions about matter-antimatter asymmetry and cosmic origins.
No scientific awards explicitly listed. Active in detector development projects like upgraded silicon pixel detectors for higher collision rates.
Labs/Teams: ATLAS Collaboration, CERN, and HL-LHC projects.
