Phillip Entzminger is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Western Carolina University's Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice (College of Arts and Sciences). Previously, he served as an Assistant Professor at Chowan University and Western Illinois University. His academic roles include teaching criminal law, investigations, and legal ethics, as well as advising pre-law students and coaching Western Illinois' award-winning mock trial team. He is currently pursuing a PhD in criminal justice with a focus on intelligence.

Research Interests: Fourth Amendment issues in medical contexts, conceptual deconstruction of recidivism, and alternative punishments for specific offenders. His work bridges legal theory with practical criminal justice challenges, particularly in medical law and juvenile justice systems.
Teaching & Engagement: Courses include criminal law, police practices, business ethics, and constitutional law. He has mentored students through mock trial competitions and pre-law advising.
