Peyman Jafari is a historian specializing in the modern Middle East, focusing on revolutions, energy, labor, and environmental intersections in global capitalism. He joined William & Mary from Princeton University, where he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Sharmin and Bijan Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Iran and Persian Gulf Studies.
Jafari earned his PhD in history from Leiden University, where his dissertation received the Biennial Mehrdad Mashayekhi Dissertation Award from the Association for Iranian Studies. His research bridges historical analysis and contemporary global issues.
