Petra Doma is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Japanese Studies, Károli Gáspár Reformed University, within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Her research focuses on intercultural theatre, particularly the role of women in Japanese theatre at the turn of the 20th century and the impact of Western theatre on traditional Japanese forms.
- Education: PhD in Theatre Studies (University of Pécs, 2020); MA in Theatre Studies (Károli Gáspár Reformed University, 2014); BA in Japanese Studies (Eötvös Loránd University, 2010).
Research Trends: Petra's work bridges Japanese theatre history, gender studies, and cultural exchange. Recent publications analyze Hanako’s European tours, authenticity in cross-cultural performances, and historical documentation of Japanese theatre in Hungarian press. She explores how Kabuki and Western aesthetics intersect, including Auguste Rodin’s artistic engagement with Japanese theatre.

- Loránd Eötvös non-ferrous metal commemorative coin (2020) by ELTE Eötvös József Collegium.
Projects and Roles: Petra coordinates Erasmus programs (2021–2024), edits conference volumes for Eötvözet SZITU and "Near and Far" series, and participates in projects like Japán Behind the Iron Curtain (2022–2025).
