Dr. Peter de Goeij is an Associate Professor of Finance at Tilburg University's Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM), Department of Finance. He holds a PhD in Economics from KU Leuven (2003). His research focuses on asset pricing, behavioral finance, and financial product communication. He has published extensively on topics such as asymmetric effects in multivariate GARCH models, insider trading, and analyst recommendations. Current projects include improving financial product communication and data science solutions for pension communication.
- Teaches introductory finance courses for bachelor/premaster students and Investment Analysis at the master level.
- Recipient of multiple teaching awards, including the Excellent Teacher Award for BSc Business Economics (2017) and MSc Finance (2014).
Research highlights include examining the impact of regulatory certification on investor behavior and the role of communication in mutual fund risk perception. He has led projects on macroeconomic fundamentals and asset markets (2009–2011) and data science solutions for pension communication (2018–2021). Active in academic leadership roles, including Academic Director of MSc Finance and Chair of the Education Committee for Business Programs.
