Dr. Peter Y. Park is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at York University's Lassonde School of Engineering, serving concurrently as Associate Dean for Research Innovation, Enterprise & Partnerships (P.Eng). His expertise spans transportation safety/security (highways/railways), intelligent transportation systems, and advanced statistical analysis. Previously, he held faculty roles at the University of Saskatchewan (2008–2015) and consulted for 10+ years, including with iTRANS Consulting Inc. (now HDR Inc.).
- Education: PhD in Civil Engineering
Research focuses on transportation safety analytics, GIS-based hotspot identification, and safety countermeasure selection tools. He contributed to FHWA's SafetyAnalyst system and authored an NHI e-learning course on crash reduction factors. Serves on editorial boards of 'Accident Analysis and Prevention' and 'Analytic Methods in Accident Research.'
Key projects include Saskatchewan Government Insurance collaborations, developing GIS systems for Regina/Saskatoon collision hotspots, and producing FHWA toolboxes for intersection/railway safety. Over 30 technical reports and peer-reviewed publications address transportation safety challenges.
