Peter Wolcott

Peter Wolcott is a Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Information Systems and Quantitative Analysis at the University of Nebraska Omaha's College of Information Science & Technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona (1993). His research focuses on information technology for development, service learning, assessment in higher education, and student cognitive processes. He has authored numerous publications on ICT adoption by micro-enterprises, assessment frameworks, and educational technology.

Teaching interests include data management and IT applications for development. Notable awards include the 2013 Outstanding Teaching and Instructional Creativity Award (OTICA). His work bridges academic research with practical community engagement through service learning initiatives. Active in global IT diffusion studies, he has explored technology adoption challenges in developing economies and cultural impacts of digital media in education.
