معرفی
Associate Professor Peter Williamson holds an honorary appointment in the Sydney School of Veterinary Science at The University of Sydney. Previously, he served as an Associate Professor and Principal Research Fellow in Physiology and Genomics within the Faculty of Veterinary Science and the School of Life and Environmental Sciences, as well as a Senior Researcher Fellow in the Faculty of Medicine. His research focuses on physiological systems and their disease-induced changes, with a particular emphasis on animal health and genomics.
Dr. Williamson has a BSc(Hons) and a PhD, along with a GAICD qualification. He is affiliated with the Sydney Institute of Agriculture and is based at the R.M.C. Gunn Building (Room 551). His work bridges veterinary science, physiology, and genomics, addressing issues such as milk protein biology, canine genetic disorders, and disease demographics in companion animals.
His research interests span physiological mechanisms, genomic applications in animal health, and the intersection of veterinary medicine with agricultural resilience. He has contributed to studies on bovine milk proteins, canine lymphoma epidemiology, and the genetic basis of inherited diseases in animals. His grants include projects on canine lymphoma management via DNA analysis (2018) and resilience mechanisms in livestock (2017).
While no current students are explicitly listed, Williamson has advised students in his research areas. His international collaborations and contributions to veterinary history and future trends further highlight his interdisciplinary engagement.
