Peter Westerheide

Dr. Peter Westerheide is a Researcher at ZEW (Centre for European Economic Research) and Chief Economist at BASF SE since September 2011. Previously, he worked at ZEW from 1999 to 2011, serving as a researcher, senior researcher, and deputy head of the 'Retirement Provision and Sustainable Financial Markets' department. His research focuses on real estate markets, real estate financing, funded pensions, wealth creation/policy, and corporate finance.

He maintains close ties with the ReCapNet (Real Estate and Capital Markets) research network and holds memberships in professional societies such as the Society for Real Estate Research (GIF), European Economic Association (EEA), and European Real Estate Society.
