Dr. Peter Tom Jones is a Researcher at KU Leuven and serves as the Director of the KU Leuven Institute for Sustainable Metals and Minerals (SIM²), an interdisciplinary research hub with over 400 experts. His work focuses on the sustainable processing of metals crucial for clean energy systems, including lithium, cobalt/nickel, and rare earth elements.

Since 2022, he has directed documentaries exploring the link between metals and the climate transition, such as Europe’s Mining Renaissance and Europe’s Lithium Paradox.
