Peter Tashman

Peter Tashman is an Associate Professor of Strategic Management and serves as Management Chair at the Manning School of Business, University of Massachusetts Lowell. His work bridges strategic management with sustainability, focusing on corporate responses to climate change and institutional pressures in global contexts.

His educational background includes a Ph.D. in Strategic Management from George Washington University (2011) and dual bachelor's degrees from the University of Vermont: a BA in German and European Studies and a BS in International Management (both 1993).

Tashman's research explores how firms navigate natural resource dependence, sustainability reporting, and climate adaptation through institutional and resource-based lenses. He investigates emerging market multinationals' CSR decoupling practices, voluntary environmental program effectiveness, and cross-sector collaboration for social resilience, often employing meta-analytical methods to synthesize large-scale patterns across diverse institutional contexts.
