Peter Szlosarek is a Professor of Medical Oncology leading translational research on arginine-depleting therapies in hard-to-treat cancers. He is affiliated with the Centre for Cancer Biomarkers and Biotherapeutics and spearheads clinical trials such as ADAM, TRAP, and ATOMIC to evaluate ADI-PEG20.
His research focuses on the role of aberrant ASS1 expression in cancer progression and therapeutic targeting. Key areas include arginine deprivation therapy, metabolic vulnerabilities, immunotherapy, and biomarker development for glioma and mesothelioma.
Major funding includes Barts Charity (2019-2021) for stromal targeting in mesothelioma and commercial support from Polaris Pharma and Roche UK. He chairs the NCRI mesothelioma subgroup and contributes to EORTC lung/melanoma groups as well as grant review panels.
