Dr Peter Ross Lawrenson is a Casual Clinical Educator and Casual Academic at the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, The University of Queensland. His email is p.lawrenson@uq.edu.au. He holds a PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences (2019) focusing on muscle activity and morphology in hip-related pain.
Dr Lawrenson's research interests span hip-related pain, musculoskeletal biomechanics, sports medicine, and rehabilitation strategies. His work often involves interdisciplinary collaborations, particularly within the Femoroacetabular Impingement and Hip Osteoarthritis Cohort (FORCe) study, investigating hip morphology, MRI-based diagnostics, and clinical outcomes in athletes.
Recent studies (2024-2025) highlight his focus on biomechanical analyses of hip/groin pain in football players, MRI-based assessment of muscle and cartilage changes, and the relationship between hip morphology and osteoarthritis risk. His work bridges clinical practice and mechanistic insights, aiming to improve non-surgical management strategies for hip disorders.
He has contributed to international guidelines on hip pain classification and patient-reported outcome measures. While no specific awards are listed, his extensive publication record reflects a strong academic profile in musculoskeletal research.
