Professor Peter Richmond heads the Paediatrics discipline at UWA Medical School and leads the Vaccine Trials Group at the Wesfarmers Centre of Vaccines and Infectious Diseases. His research focuses on preventing childhood infections through vaccine development and evaluation.
Key areas:
- Clinical trials for RSV, pneumococcal, and meningococcal vaccines
- Immunogenicity in special populations (infants, Indigenous children)
- Ear health interventions in Aboriginal communities
He directs multiple NHMRC-funded projects including studies on neonatal probiotics and childhood self-harm reduction.
