Prof. Peter Quirmbach is a Professor and Head of the Technical Chemistry and Corrosion Sciences Research Group at the University of Koblenz. He holds roles as Managing Director of the Chemistry Department and Officer for Knowledge and Technology Transfer within the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. His affiliations include membership in the FBR 3 (Council of the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences) and the Examination Board for the M.Eng. Ceramic Science and Engineering program. He leads a multidisciplinary team focused on corrosion science and technical chemistry applications.
Research interests center on corrosion mechanisms, material degradation, and applied chemical engineering solutions. His group collaborates on technology transfer initiatives bridging academic research with industrial applications. Professional activities include administrative oversight of departmental operations and curriculum development in materials science education.
