Peter Parry

Peter Parry is an Associate Professor at The University of Queensland and a Visiting Senior Lecturer at Flinders University. He graduated from Adelaide University with an M.B.B.S. in 1983 and earned a Ph.D. from Flinders University in 2021. His career spans clinical roles in child and adolescent psychiatry across Australia, the UK, and Wales, including leadership positions such as Medical Unit Head (2000–2003) and Medical Director (2014–2016).

• Research Interests: Psychiatric nosology, developmental psychology, pharma-medicine conflict of interest, child/adolescent/family mental health assessment, adolescent depression syndromes, and lifestyle factors in mental health.
• Academic Contributions: Over 40 journal articles, 4 conference publications, 2 book chapters, and a doctoral thesis critiquing the 'paediatric bipolar disorder' diagnosis.
