Peter McBurney is a Professor specializing in Artificial Intelligence, Distributed Systems, and Computational Finance. His affiliations include roles in hubs such as the Informatics Finance Hub and Distributed Artificial Intelligence Security Hub. He holds a PhD in Rational Interaction from the University of Liverpool (2002) and a Bachelor of Arts in Pure Mathematics & Statistics from the Australian National University (1980).
He serves on the Academic Advisory Council of the Financial Conduct Authority since 2018. His research focuses on Autonomous Agents, Blockchain Technology, Multi-Agent Systems, and the ethical implications of AI.
