Prof. Dr. Peter Limbach is a Professor of Finance and Corporate Governance at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics, University of Bielefeld. He serves as Chair holder and is affiliated with BIGSEM - Bielefeld Graduate School of Economics and Management as a faculty member. His research spans corporate finance, governance, and ESG/sustainability topics.
- Education: German Diploma in Economics (University of Bonn), PhD (Dr. rer. pol.) in Finance (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology)
Research Interests:
- Corporate Finance: Capital allocation, taxation, M&A
- Corporate Governance: Board dynamics, CEO decision-making, shareholder voting
- ESG/Sustainability: Decarbonization strategies, ESG data/ratings, sustainability reporting
- Financial Accounting: Analyst backgrounds, investor relations, social connectedness in financial disclosure
Academic Leadership: Vice Chairman of the Scientific Commission Banking and Finance (BA-FI) at VHB (2021-present), Co-Editor of Management Review Quarterly (2022-present).
Teaching: Extensive experience across BSc, MSc, and PhD programs including HHL Leipzig MBA courses and upcoming ProDok PhD course (2025) on Empirical Corporate Sustainability Research.
