Peter Larsen

Peter Larsen is a Lecturer in the Journalism & Public Relations department at California State University, Long Beach, within the College of Liberal Arts. He has been teaching one or two classes per semester since 2006 while maintaining his role as a pop culture reporter for the Orange County Register since 2004.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in English and Communications from Lewis and Clark College
• Master’s degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University

Larsen’s professional work spans decades, covering major entertainment events like the Oscars, Emmys, Comic-Con, and Coachella. His research interests align with journalism practices in pop culture reporting, entertainment media, and mass communication trends.

His career in journalism began at the Belleville News-Democrat, continued at the Los Angeles Daily News, and solidified at the Orange County Register, where he combines professional reporting with academic teaching responsibilities.
