معرفی
Peter Lammers is a Research Professor in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment at Arizona State University (ASU) and serves as Chief Scientist at the Arizona Center for Algal Technology and Innovation (AzCATI). He also holds affiliations with the ASU Water Institute and the Global Futures Scientists and Scholars program.
- Ph.D. in Environmental Science (Chemistry), Portland State University (1982)
- Postdoctoral Training, University of Chicago (Laboratory of Professor Robert Haselkorn)
Dr. Lammers specializes in extremophilic algae for wastewater treatment and resource recovery, including species like Galdieria sulphuraria and Cyanidioschyzon merolae. His work spans metabolic engineering, biochemical pathways, and algal biotechnology, with applications in hydrothermal liquefaction, biofuel production, and sustainable materials.
His recent publications focus on algal cultivation modeling, nutrient recovery systems, and techno-economic assessments for scalable algal bioprocesses. Key methodologies include genetic modification, biochar recycling, and life-cycle analysis.
Dr. Lammers supervises research projects through courses like BIO 492 Honors Directed Study, CHE 592 Research, and CHE 599 Thesis. His lab teams at AzCATI and the Water Institute drive innovations in algal biomass utilization and environmental bioremediation.
